Meet Alicja, Joseph, and Sara, this year’s recipients of Designst­ipendiet

We are proud to announce this year’s recipients of Designstipendiet: Alicja Kaznica, Joseph Aljawabra, and Sara Kassem. All three will join the Visual Communication program at Beckmans Evening School this fall.

Alicja is 20 years old and recently moved to Sweden from her native Poland. At Beckmans, she hopes to bring perspectives from Polish visual culture to Scandinavian design.

18-year-old Joseph from Norsborg in Stockholm will join Beckmans fresh out of high school. He is passionate about visual storytelling and how images can communicate ideas and emotions.

22-year-old Sara is driven by curiosity and enjoys exploring the world from different perspectives, an approach she sees as a strength in visual communication.

Designstipendiet is awarded to selected candidates admitted to one of the three tracks at Beckmans Evening School, which offers preparatory programs in Form, Fashion, and Visual Communication. It was established by the Robert Weil Family Foundation to make a career in design more accessible to students from diverse social and economic backgrounds. The scholarship covers the full SEK 37,000 tuition for one year of study at the Evening School.
