Mekudeshet

Mekudeshet or Jerusalem Season of Culture has produced hundreds of original, city-specific artistic works over the years. In 2011 Different Trains, the award winning allkunstwerk from the Jewish Theatre in Stockholm was invited to perform in the ancient Tower of David in Jerusalem.

Mekudeshet create original multi-diciplinary art in Jerusalem, for Jerusalem and from Jerusalem. Art that emerges from the city’s daily life. Mekudeshet believe in the magical power of art to dissolve boundaries, to touch the heart and mind simultaneously, and to influence reality. The signature project is an annual, city-specific culture festival that commissions artists of diverse disciplines and backgrounds to grapple with the world’s most sensitive city, producing new work from deep within Jerusalem’s complex reality. The Robert Weil Family Foundation are a proud supporter of Feel Beit, a culture house envisioned, curated, produced and staffed collectively by creatives from Jerusalem’s diverse communities. The renovated, 800 sq. meter space sits on the invisible boundary between East and West Jerusalem atop the Gabriel Sherover promenade, and features a performance venue, club, bar/café, digital broadcasting studio, office and hub space, and an expansive terrace with sweeping views of the city.
