Sebastian Fältström receives the the 2026 Bernadotte Scholarship in Design

We are proud to celebrate the selection of Sebastian Acaymo Fältström as this year’s recipient of the Bernadotte scholarship in design.

Sebastian has developed a solution for removing oil and heavy metals from marina water. His product, Macro Fibers, is made from recycled wool from the meat industry and can be cleaned and reused many times. With his invention, Sebastian demonstrates how local, sustainable resources can be used to create healthier ecosystems.

Since 1982, Marianne and Sigvard Bernadotte’s arts scholarship has been awarded to young visual artists, actors, musicians, and designers. Our chairman, Robert Weil, serves on the jury selecting the design recipient of the scholarship. This year’s recipients in the other categories were: Actress Alva Bratt, singer Josefine Mindus, and artist Olle Helin.
